Information we collect

  • Account information you give us: email address, username, display name, and anything you choose to add to your profile such as a bio, country, city or avatar.
  • Content you create: photos, captions, comments, appreciations, follows and shares.
  • Activity data used to operate the reward system: session duration, interaction counts, referral events and share link visits.
  • Technical data: we may process device and browser information and use a salted or irreversible fingerprint derived from an IP address to help detect abuse.
  • Electronic-signature evidence: when you electronically sign an agreement, we may record your IP or network address, device and browser details, timestamps, agreement version and related technical information as evidence of the electronic signature and for account security, fraud prevention, compliance, dispute resolution and audit purposes. Electronic-signature evidence is accessible only to authorised personnel and is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the applicable legal, contractual, security, audit or dispute purposes.

How we use your data

  • To operate your account and show your content to the community.
  • To calculate points, detect fraud and determine reward eligibility.
  • To keep the platform safe and to investigate abuse reports.
  • To communicate with you about your account, verification and important changes.
  • To measure aggregate platform performance for reporting to partners. Sponsors never receive personal data about individual members.

Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, we process data to perform our contract with you (running your account), on the basis of legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, aggregate analytics), and with your consent where required (for example, non-essential cookies).

Cookies and advertising

IBARA uses essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember a referral link you arrived through.

We may display advertising. Advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to our site and/or other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party cookie use at aboutads.info.

Sharing your data

  • Service providers who host our infrastructure, store images and send email on our behalf.
  • Payment providers when you request a withdrawal.
  • Law enforcement where we are legally required to respond.
  • We never sell your personal data.

Retention

We keep account data while your account exists. Fraud-prevention records and financial records are kept for as long as needed to meet legal and accounting obligations. When you delete your account, your profile and content are removed; anonymised, aggregated statistics may remain.

Your rights

  • Access a copy of your data.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your account and content.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time.
  • Contact privacy@ibara.co.rw to exercise any of these rights.
